The Supporting Collections Study Centre

In 2006 the Old Armour School building, which was used to train tank mechanics to maintain vehicles, was converted into a specialised Supporting Collection Study Centre.

Before this the supporting collection was scattered throughout a number of different sites. The Supporting Collection Study Centre has centralised the collection and greatly improved the conservation, access and use of these small items.

The building will also provide a multi-use work room for use by partnership organisations.

Funding for this project was greatly assisted by grants from the South West Heritage Lottery Fund and the Designation Challenge Fund.
