Edward Roland Dodd

A/Sgt. Edward Rowland Dodd, 7868813, 16th Battalion Tank Corps
Enlisted 21st February 1917 and discharged 20th February 1925

Born 6th September 1898 in Ashton Hayes a small village outside Chester in what is now the local inn. He was one of seven children. The three boys went to war and 3 came back.

From the early 1920's he worked for the same firm, Carlux, for the next fifty years. In the World War 2 Carlux repaired aircraft engine parts.

He was a very quiet man and never spoke about his time in the war. He had three interests in life : his girls (his wife and three daughters), cars and engines, and sport (football and cricket).

He died on 27th April 1980.
