Joined at Bovington in August 1937 and posted to 3rd Battalion at Lydd.
Remained with 3rd Royal Tank Regiment until captured in 1942. PoW in Italy. Released from Camp 383 in April 1945 by US 1st Army.
Following the war he specialised in Driving & Maintence. However in September 1954 became Regimental Sergeant Major with 8th Royal Tank Regiment, until December 1960. Was Parade RSM for the first Standard Presentation Parade at Buckingham Palace on 27th October 1960. Following which he took up his Commission and was appointed MBE in December 1960.
After a period as 2IC HQ Squadron, 7th Armoured Brigade he joined the Parachute Squadron RAC as Quartermaster. He was the Quartermaster of the 2nd from January 1963 until March 1974 in Ulster, England and BAOR.
Quartermaster for the Royal Tank Regiment Review held on 14th July 1967 in Germany, commanded by Doug Ambidge.
Died 1st July 1998.
