Arthur Michael Wareham

Pte. Arthur Michael Wareham, RAOC, Attached to 5th Royal Tank Regiment

Born 2nd September 1917 in Ringwood Hampshire. After getting marred he lived in Verwood all his life and died in the same area on 29th Auust 2015. He attended Ringwood National School and worked for the Ringwood Electrical Supply Company (ultimately S.E.B.) for 50 years.

The war years were largely in the Eritrea/Sudan area, Western Desert, Italy and through Europe.

He was very musical and played various types of guitars and the double bass. Was often a part of regimental dance bands and then formed his own dance bands and played and sung throughout his life. He led a very full and interesting life and was a character full of stories and a very special man, particularly to his family.
