Charles, MM Bradley
Charles Bradley was a Warrant Officer 2nd Class Regimental Quartermaster Sergeant), No 1 Company, Machine Gun Corps. He joined the Ox & Bucks Light Infantry as a regular soldier, pre-war. On 23rd Nov 1914 he went to France as a Sergeant and transferred to the Machine Gun Corps, still a Sergeant in mid 1915. During the summer of 1916 he was serving with No 1 Coy, MGC and was awarded a Military Medal for his gallantry during the Somme battles of July -September 1916.
Between 1916 and 1918 Charles Bradley was promoted to Staff-Sergeant, then Warrant Officer 2nd class (Regt) Quartermaster Sergeant of 1st Battalion Machine Gun Corps. He survived the war and in addition to the Military Medal, he also received the 1914-15 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal.
