A.E. Peck

Albert Eli Peck, born 11th October 1899

A farmer's son from Bradwell, Derbyshire. One of 11 children (4 brothers, 6 sisters). Served in World War 1 and was wounded in France in 1918. Demobilised 1920.

Re-enlisted in 1921 into the Royal Tank Corps and served for 9 years in India before being posted to 2nd Battalion Royal Tank Corps in 1931. He was medically discharged from the Army 1943 having served 26 years.

Married Emily J. Patten (widow of Arthur W Patten 1941 and had one daughter, Carole M. Peck in 1946 (and 4 step-children from his wife's first marriage).

Albert Eli Peck continued to work for the Army at the REME workshops at Bovington Camp, as an electrician, until his retirement in 1964 and died in 1967, aged 67 years.
