Tales of valour
WESTBROOK Tom, (Lieutenant)
“D” Battalion Tank Corps
Bullecourt, May 3rd 1917.
During the action his tank was riddled with armour-piercing bullets, which wounded himself and four of his crew and knocked out five Lewis guns. Unable to work his tank any longer, he withdrew his crew to shell-holes under heavy fire and himself covered the retirement of these men to the rallying point.
