WESTON Robert, (Private)

9th Battalion Tank Corps

During the operations near Bellenglise on September 29th 1918, after his tank had received a direct hit, wounding Private Weston, the driver, in the face and blinding him in one eye, he stuck to his post and endeavoured to drive the tank out of action until a second direct hit broke the track. The tank was then evacuated. Private Weston set a fine example of devotion to duty to the remainder of the crew.
