China War Medal 1900
This, the third China medal was sanctioned in 1901 for those who had been involved in the so-called "Boxer Rebellion " of 1900 and subsequent expeditions. The medal was issued in both silver and bronze and three bars were authorised, the most desirable being "Defence of Legations " awarded to those who defended the Peking Legations.
The obverse has the bust of Queen Victoria and the reverse a trophy of arms.
The ribbon is crimson with yellow edges.
