Burma Star

Granted for service in the Burma Campaign from 1941 to the surrender of Japan in September 1945, and including service in Assam and Bengal and service in Malaya and China during its reconquest.

A six pointed bronze star with the GRI/VI monogram in the circular centre, surmounted by a crown. Inscribed 'THE BURMA STAR'.

The ribbon is three equal bands of dark blue (British forces), red (Commonwealth forces) and dark blue. The dark blue bands each have at their centre a stripe of bright orange (the sun)..
