King George V Coronation 1911 (Silver)
Coronation Medal 1911
Designed by Sir Bertram McKennal, MVO, ARA, the medals were issued to commemorate the Coronation of King George V on 22nd June 1911 and are available in silver only. This was the first time that the medal might be awarded to those not actually present at the ceremony itself.
The obverse shows conjoined left -facing busts of King George V and Queen Mary in their coronation robes within a floral wreath. The reverse has the crowned royal cipher above the date of the coronation .
The ribbon is dark blue with two thin red stripes in the centre.
