The Bovington Camp based Light Cavalry Band are giving a special performance at the Tank Museum (Thursday 8th March, 7.30pm) |
Titled “A Night of Music from Film, Theatre and Dance”, the band will be performing popular tunes amongst the Museums towering collection of armour, from such shows as Pirates of the Caribbean, West Side Story and Sabre Dance.
In July 2006, 300 spectators watched the Light Cavalry Band at The Tank Museum giving their inaugural concert in an open air `Proms` style event. This followed an Army Corps of Music reorganisation that saw The Band of the Light Dragoons merging with the Band of the Royal Lancers to form the 33 piece Light Cavalry Band.
Museum spokesman Nik Wyness said; “Last year, the audience really enjoyed the concert and made it clear that they would like to see the band performing again at The Tank Museum. The Light Cavalry band have a fantastically eclectic repertoire, and this concert will be ideal for anyone who likes live music – military or otherwise.”
Tickets are limited to 300 and priced £7.50 for adults and £5.00 for under 16’s. For information call Donna on 01929 462359.
