Tank Museum Spokesman Nik Wyness said; "Through
out the summer, there will be four live action
tank displays a week, and visitors will be able
to discover for themselves what it is like to
ride in a tracked vehicle as it thunders around
the Museum arena."
The explosive Tanks In Action (Tuesdays and
Thursdays) is a major forty-five minute display
where visitors can witness the past roaring
into life. The show culminates in a mock tank
battle, featuring pyrotechnic explosions and
a variety of historic armoured fighting vehicles,
complete with expert commentary.
"To celebrate the first Tanks In Action
of the summer holidays, classic Bentleys will
be making several laps of the arena following
the display. These will be led by our own 1920
Rolls Royce Armoured Car, before they are parked
up for visitors to get a closer look at these
beautifully preserved vintage vehicles,"
said Nik.
Armour In Motion (Mondays and Wednesdays) allows
the public to see a variety of historic armoured
vehicles put through their paces in a thirty
minute demonstration of tank mobility.
Nik added; "These live events will continue
through out the summer, and there also be other
additions to our programme - such as military
and marching bands to entertain the crowds."
