TV historian Richard Holmes entertained
an audience of 300 at The Tank Museum with
a presentation to promote his new book titled;
Tommy; The British Soldier on The Western
Front.
Richard Holmes, professor of Military and
Security Studies at Cranfield University and
the Royal Military College of Sciences,
has written over a dozen books on military history,
and has presented the BBC television series
War Walks.
He said; This is one of my favourite
Museums. I have spoken here before and the
audience is always warm and enthusiastic.
He obliged dozens of fans, taking questions
and signing copies of his books for almost
an hour after the presentation ended.
One young military history enthusiast, 14
year old Edward Gillin, travelled all the way
from Totnes in Devon to attend the lecture.
