Tank Museum Open Weekends Only From End of October

The Tank Museum is delighted to announce that
it will be open at weekends during the winter period.

The museum had been scheduled to close from October 29th to February 2008 (with the exception of Out Of Hours events) due to redevelopment work.

However with the work reassessed, the Museum now able to remain open Saturdays and Sundays 10am - 5pm during this period, and disruptions to customers are expected to be minimal.

Until then, it is business as usual at The Home of The Tank, with a host of family activities planned for Half Term (22nd-26th October), and the final Tanks In Action display of the year taking place at 1pm on Thursday 25th October.

The Tank Museum holds the world’s best collection of tanks in 5 large halls, making it a great day out for all the family - whatever the weather.

The Tank Museum’s £16M redevelopment project is due for completion early in 2009.

Work on constructing the new display hall is now well underway and normal 7 days a week opening is scheduled to resume in early February.

The Archive and Reference Library will be closed from Monday 29^th October 2007 until Monday 10th December 2007, while new moveable shelving is installed in the Archive and Library.

This will mean that reference material will be unavailable for consultation during this period.

We will endeavour to continue answering e-mails, but these too may be delayed until the Archive is fully functional once again. We apologise for any inconvenience…..
