A Museum Fit For A Queen12th June 2009 Her Majesty The Queen has officially opened the new wing at The Tank Museum. During her visit to Dorset The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, toured the Museum which has just completed a major £16.5m redevelopment project. |

The Tank Story Royal Opening June 11th 20099th June 2009 The team at The Tank Museum has been putting the finishing touches to its preparations for Her Majesty The Queen’s visit. Director of the Museum, Richard Smith left no turret unturned as he put the Museum’s trusty feather duster to task on every hatch, track and sprocket in sight at the Museum – ahead of the official opening of the Bovington-based Museum’s new wing and 50,000 sq ft Tank Story exhibition. |

Summer Proms – Military Band Concert6th August 200919:00 - 21:30 The Band of the Yorkshire Regiment & The Band of the Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment will perform an evening Summer Proms themed concert at The Tank Museum. Supported by the Corps of Drums from the 4th Battalion The Duke of Lancaster Regiment, the bands will perform a string of popular patriotic favourites, such as Jerusalem, Land of Hope and Glory and Rule Britannia. |
