It is our Panzer
III, it is in the woods, but what is it doing with
a muzzle brake?
A company called Dangerous Films has been making a programme
for the BBC
with a D-Day theme.
The
programme will recount first-hand D-Day stories; this one
presumably concerning a young man in a Panzer regiment, perhaps
portrayed by one of these actors in uniform?
The programme is scheduled to go out, at least in Britain,
on the eve of the 60th Anniversary of D-Day so that
will be something to watch out for.
The filming was done in woodland near the Tank Museum; and
the muzzle brake? Well that was an attempt to make the tank
look a bit more like a late production Panzer IV, which
would be a lot more typical of the period. Whether it works
or not we leave you to judge.
