Roll of Honour

Here you can view a digital version of The Royal Armoured Corps (RAC) Roll of Honour.

The Roll of Honour contains a record of the 12,586 RAC soldiers who have died in service from 1939 to the present day. You can search for a serviceman by name here.

The original Roll of Honour can be seen in the RAC Memorial Room at The Tank Museum.

The Royal Armoured Corps

The Royal Armoured Corps was created shortly before the Second World War to bring together all those regiments of the British Army then serving in tank and armoured reconnaissance regiments.

The RAC included the Cavalry, Yeomanry and Royal Tank Regiments plus various infantry battalions that were converted to tanks and, later, the Reconnaissance Corps.

Since the formation of the RAC, in response to a changing situation, a number of regiments have been amalgamated or disbanded, whilst others have changed roles.

If you cannot find an individual listed but know the name of the regiment they were serving in and an approximate date of death, please email librarian@tankmuseum.org
