  Tankfest 2008 – The British Are Coming!   28th & 29th June 2008
  The Best of British will be on display at The Tank Museum this summer, as Tankfest returns in an explosive weekend of military hardware
(Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th June 2008).

Following the success of 2007’s All-American Armour which focused on the hardware employed by US forces, The Tank Museum will this year be observing the British contribution to armoured warfare and commemorating the bravery and sacrifice of Royal Armoured Corps servicemen both past and present.

EVENING LECTURE POSTPONEMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

Thursday 29th May 2008 - 7.30pm: Gary Sheffield.
Douglas Haig - Was he the Accidental Victor in 1918?
Due to personal reasons Gary Sheffield has postponed his 29th May Lecture at The Tank Museum until 20th November.

A replacement lecturer, recommended by Gary Sheffield himself will instead appear at The Tank Museum on the 29th May.
Dr Dan Todman, Senior Lecturer in Modern History at Queen Mary, University of London, and Author of The First World War: Myth and Memory, will be tackling a similar World War One theme as he discusses : 'The Second Great War: 1914-18 in the context of 1939-45.'

Tickets:
£9 each; now available.
If you have already purchased a ticket for the Garry Sheffield lecture, you are able to transfer your ticket to this replacement lecture or withhold it to gain admission to Garry Sheffield’s rescheduled appearance at the Museum at 7.30pm on the 20 th November.
In this case, The Tank Museum will contact you by post with reference to your preferred choice.

Not long ago a gentleman walked into the library and dumped a pile of old photographs and photo albums on the table. He had rescued them from a bonfire at a house clearance and, seeing that they were mostly of military vehicles he thought we might like them. A quick inspection confirmed that; it is quite amazing what turns up, completely unexpected and without any warning at all.....
