Wargaming.net Sponsors Tankfest 2016

The publishers of the free-to-play video game World of Tanks are sponsoring TANKFEST 2016.

It will be the fourth year that Wargaming.net has partnered with The Tank Museum to sponsor what is a vital fundraising event.

WOT sponsorAlmost 20,000 visitors from around the world converged on Bovington for TANKFEST in 2015, which saw what is regarded as the world’s biggest and best display of historic moving armour sell out for the first time since its inaugural event in 2000.

Tank Museum Director, Richard Smith said; “We are very pleased to announce the next phase of this important and ongoing strategic relationship with Wargaming.net. The game World of Tanks has proven itself to be a crucial way in which The Tank Museum can engage a new and younger audience with the fascinating history of armoured warfare."

Alongside an unrivalled display of historic moving armour and living history encampments and access to the Museum itself – which houses a collection of 300 tanks from the First World War to the Present day- visitors will be treated to mock battle re-enactments and a live display from the British Army at TANKFEST 2016.

Sponsors Wargaming.net will be hosting a major World of Tanks experience zone, where visitors will be able to try the game on a variety of platforms and meet some of the developers, and personalities from the online Wargaming Community.
