DICKENSON George William, (Private)

10th Battalion, Tank Corps

In Gressaire Wood, on August 9th 1918, this man showed conspicuous gallantry and skill in repairing his tank after it had been set on fire. His officer had been killed and his first driver wounded. This man put out the fire and repaired the leads, although closely surrounded by the enemy all the time. He then drove his tank through the enemy and brought in fifty of them as prisoners.
