Nigel W. Duncan

Major General Duncan joined the Royal Tank Corps in 1923. Her served with the Armoured Car Companies in Egypt, India and palestine where he came into contact with Lawrence of Arabia.

In World War 2 he was Commander of 30th Armoured Brigade, part of 79th Armoured Division, which fought in many actions in North West Europe including the assault on Le Havre and the Rhine Crossing.

After the war Major General Duncan became the Director of the Royal Armoured Corps Centre here at Bovington. Latger he became Curator of the Tank Musuem between 1964-1967.
