1914-15 Star

Country: United Kingdom

1914 -1915 Star

Issued to British, Dominion, Indian and Colonial Forces and medical personnel serving within any theatre of war between 5th August 1914 and 31st December 1915. As with the earlier 1914 Star recipients were entitled to the British War Medal and the Victory Medal, but those who received the 1914 Star were not eligible for the 1914 - 1915 Star. Approximately 2,366,000 were issued.

Very similar in appearance to the 1914 Star (a four pointed star with a crown obscuring top point, crossed swords overlaid by a wreath of oak leaves and the royal cipher at the foot) the central scroll is inscribed 1914-15.

The ribbon is watered silk in red, white and blue (worn with the red nearest the centre of the chest)..
