Whether your age and knowledge of tanks, there’s tonnes to see and do at The Tank Museum.
Whether your child loves tanks or not, we want to make sure you all have a great time. Under 4s enter the Museum for free, and there are plenty of interactive games throughout the exhibitions to keep them entertained, as well as an outdoor playground and soft play.
If you’re attending with a baby or toddler, we’ve got all the facilities you’ll need – baby changing, nursing room and a microwave to heat up milk and baby food.
The perfect age to explore our unique collection. Explore the story of the tank through our Commander Basil trail, dress up, or get stuck into one of our interactive activities – like building their own tanks out of Cobi blocks, racing tortoises like WWII soldiers in the desert, or learn battlefield codes. Younger ones can burn off steam in our outdoor play area and free soft play.
During school holidays, enjoy free themed activities such as animals in war, rationing and more. During Easter, May, and Summer holidays they can learn about how tanks are used in battle during Tanks in Action, and join them in the arena themselves. Whether they’re interested in history, engineering or seeing tanks roar round the arena, there’s a range of activities on offer for teenagers. Ride around the arena in our tracked vehicle rides, or put our tanks into action with the World of Tanks Gaming Zone.

Even if you aren’t interested in military vehicles, we guarantee you won’t be bored – there’s much more than just tanks! Walk down a 1940s street, read the love story of Henriques’ ring, find out about the women who built the vehicles, and the use of horses, pigeons and other animals in wartime.
Discover the story of armoured warfare at a personal level from the crews themselves, in Tank Men, WW2: War Stories, and Battlegroup Afghanistan.
Welcome to heaven! Make sure you mark off an entire day to explore the whole collection, including balcony access to the Vehicle Conservation Centre. If you don’t have the luxury to take your time, start in the Tank Story Hall to see the most iconic vehicles in history.
