Getting Here
The Museum will open at 9.00am.
By Car Parking is free at Tiger Day and our uniformed staff will direct you to available spaces, car parks open at 8.00am.
By Rail and Bus There are also regular train services in to nearby Wool train station. See the National Rail website for more information.
There are also usually taxis waiting at the station, which can be hired to take you to The Tank Museum. See the Find Us page for more information on public transport.
Where to Stay
Find options of where to stay on TripAdvisor or Visit Dorset. Please bear in mind that nearby accommodation options fill up very early. If you can't find anywhere very close by, we recommend looking in Wareham, Dorchester, Weymouth, Poole or Bournemouth, as they are all on the main train line to Wool.
International Visitors
From Airports
The Tank Museum's nearest international aiports are Southampton and Bristol, both approximately an hour and a half from the Museum.
From Southampton airport, there are regular trains from Southampton Airport Parkway, less than 100 steps from the airport exit, where you can travel to Wool station. They also have a variety of car hire options - find out more here.
From Bristol, you can take the Airport Flyer Express to Bristol Temple Meads station, continuing onto Wool either via Southampton or Dorchester. Find details and book trains here. Alternatively, you can hire a car from the aiport - details here.
The Museum is also conveniently close to London, meaning journeys from London Gatwick or Heathrow are no problem at all. The Heathrow Express takes you to Paddington, where you can take the tube to Waterloo where there are direct trains to Wool - details here. From Ferry Ports
Located very close to the South Coast, The Tank Museum has several nearby ferry ports, including Poole, Portsmouth and Plymouth, and is four hours from Dover. All these towns have train stations approximately half an hour away from the port, with Poole running a shuttle bus service. There are also local taxi services who can take you to the town centre.

• There is uneven ground on parts of the site
• Grass areas can be slippery when wet
• Site is dusty
• Regretfully dogs are not allowed onsite
• Children must be accompanied by parent(s)/guardian(s) at all times
• As a condition of entry, visitors may be subject to a search.
