Rolls-Royce Meteor Engine & its Installation in the Cromwell Tank

1st April 2019

REME 1How good is your note-taking?

In the Archive’s latest donation, Captain H. G. Topham shames us all with his immaculate note taking from his ‘Rolls-Royce Meteor Engine & its Installation in the Cromwell Tank’ course.

The twelve day course was run by Rolls Royce Limited at their school of Tank Instruction in Willesden during March 1943. By April, Topham had typed up his notes and completed the folder with beautiful hand drawn technical diagrams, circuit diagrams and graphs.

Capt. Topham served with REME (Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers) stationed in North Africa working on Tank Maintenance during Second World War.
