26th July 2019

An Engineering Apprenticeship in the The Tank Museum Workshop is to be funded by online donations.

Donors from across the globe have been supporting the Dorset Charity through the crowd funding website Patreon.com for the past two years.

Head of Marketing Nik Wyness said; “Last year our monthly pledges had reached such a level that we could support an Internship for local graduates. With pledges at over $5,000 per month, we are ready to commit more funds to developing young people from the local area.”

“The Apprenticeship aims to teach the next generation the skills required to maintain, conserve and restore historic vehicles – skills which are fast disappearing”, Nik added.

Just 23% of The Tank Museum’s Patreon funds are raised in the UK. At 37%, US based donors are making the largest contribution

The new Patreon sponsored Workshop Apprentice will be introduced to Patrons in the coming months in The Tank Museum’s YouTube video series “Tank Workshop Diaries”.
